This error was solved by chaning the order of $(RENDERCHECKGLLIB) and $ when they occur on the same line in NVIDIA_GPU_Computing_SDK/C/common/common.mk and common_cudalib.mk. When compiling, I ran into errors like ‘undefined reference to `gluErrorString’, although glut was installed properly. Then I downloaded the CUDA SDK to try out some examples. $sudo add-apt-repository ppa:mj-casalogic/bumblebee Then I removed the ironhide packages and installed the bumblebee packages: Then I installed the nvidia-current driver: I recovered the original graphical configuration as described in the previous post.

I have a nvidia geforce 555M and the driver simply doesn’t work. When I tried to do that, I ran into several problems which led to installing the nvidia experimental driver. In a previous post on CUDA I ran a hello world-example, but it wasn’t running any code on the device (gpu) processor yet. Step 10 – Choose the “Ok” menu button then restart the computer. Step 9 – Select “Services,” pick the “Hide All Microsoft Services” check box, then click the “Disable All” menu option.
